Electronic night went very smoothly - the oter guys were in quite an industrial sounding mood - I was still investigating my Moogerfooger Murf.

Unfortunately I found when I got home that the new Zoom H2 recorder had a really dumb design fault - the line-in record level is not adjustable - they say deep in the manual that if you want to lower the record level, then lower the level of your source - not possible on my desk as it has record out level. Reducing what appears to eb a record level on the H2 actually applies a limiter to that level - hence it distorts. Pretty clever huh? The fact it does this isn't in the manual.
The solution on the forums is to geta  £3.50 headphone volume control from Maplin. Good news it's an easy fix but frustrating that the designers were do dumb.
The irony here is I only reduced the record volume to give us lots of ceiling so it wouldn't distort of we got  loud - whereas if I had left the record level on max it wouldn'tve clipped ! Who'da thunk it?   Doh!

The electro night finished early as the venue needed the space - unfortunately invetigating the source of the problem with the Zoom recorder knocked my early night I;d promised self out the window.

Saturdays gig with Govannen was cancelled by the venue - we don;t know why.  Not too bothered - have a nice song support gig on Sunday openeing for Gretchen Peters.
