Yay - 100 each of Songs for Dreamers and Chocolate Bossa came from the factory - including the 20 each free A3 posters. Relief - all looks pretty good and the tested sound on the selected disks seem fine. So I posted complimentary SFD CDs to all those who helped out on it,
Seeing the 100 ChocBossas are a sobering thought - I got them really for promotion to try and get a label deal with them plus reviews etc. as I don't gig out with that material much. Mental note to make time for research and promotion.
Did soem serious vacuuming yesterday - then over yesterday and today mapped out and recorded some of the next 15minute track for the new age album - this proved more time consuming than the last track. More or less got it planned out now - just need to add voices, flutes, frame drum and electric guitar.
Gigged in evening with Andy the Guitar who was covering for Andy the Sax - we don't get to gig much together so it was fun - my head and hands are tired though.
Been looking at more virtual synths - I donlt know - know matter how amazing the functionality is the mellow pads just don;t sound as good as my old Triton. Either that or tastes for pads have changed. A lot of ambient presets on these things sound quite middly and wirey to my ears. The Absynth - tho I still have a lot to learn on it - I don't think it;s gonna be handy much for me in new age music. Of course one is comparing these virtual synths - about £100-200 - with the old Trion which when I bought it was £1500 so perhaps I;m expecting too much. Had a look at Sophistry today - promising but will it make MY kind of sounds? The demos are too trendy to tell.
