So I seem to have a recording head on - the latest 15min new age track (there's an element theme - this one's Fire - the last piece was Earth)  that was causing me trouble is now sounding very groovy. Addeed stacks of gentle voices - 6 layers in one section. Added frame drum too. Then did a bit of arranging/editing. Just needs some low whistle and some cosmic electric wafty guitar and I think it's there. Better get out of recording head as I have 3 Celtic gigs ina  row over St Patricks weekend.

Of course being ina  recording head means I forget to eat, drink, deal with mail, order laptops, get haircut, get to bed before 3, talk to anyone in a non distracted way - so it's best I snap out of it.

I did get distracted this morning by the AMAZING amount of quality free or cheap virtual synths there are out there - several for the more ambient tastes - I started looking at pro products at the 100-200 quid mark , then got into a thread of free-ish stuff - the best of which I really couldn't tell any difference in sound quality or user interface. Quite dizzy making. I downloaded a few which I'll try when I have time and I think I might not order the Native Instruemnts monster virtual instruments suite I had planned on treating self to.
